I live in a beautiful area called "5-forks" because there used to be 5 roads intersecting. Now - you can hardly move because of the TRAFFIC and CONGESTION. I would like to know exactly who is responsible for allowing a new grocery store LOWES FOODS to come directly across the street from our neighborhood where there are NO LIGHTS and a 2 lane road. I live less than 8 miles from the Shops at Greenridge, however, on a Fri or Sat evening it takes approx 30 to 45 minutes to get there - why? Because of the greed of businesses and no respect by our legislators for the basics of roads & lights to be in place FIRST. Now a 3rd grocery store w/i LESS than 1 mile (BiLo, Publix, now Lowes?). I would truly like to invite Nikki here to experience this with us. I truly think she has no idea how terrible this is. How does anyone in Greenville county get away with this? During the school season it is virtually impossible to get in and out of my own neighborhood! There are no traffic lights, turning lanes, nor adequate entrances into businesses to help. I'd love for Nikki to sit with me at a traffic light on Garlington Road or the Shops at Greenridge and sit there at least 5, 6 even 7 times waiting to turn left as everyone BLOCKS the intersections b/c they are simply desperate to get out. It's horrific. I know she "hears" all about it. I would love for her to come see it - experience it - live it. Plus we'll treat her to dinner too! Ultimately - I am begging whoever is responsible for this new grocery store Lowes to at a minimum be forced to install traffic lights, a median for turning and add additional lanes BEFORE school starts back in the fall. It's already a disaster and I can't believe this has been allowed to continue - how to we get laws inacted to prevent this maddness in the future? Growth w/NO PLAN for roads. You have my address and cell phone - please contact me so we can set up a visit. Truly I think she will be better educated by experiencing this personally. We need to wait until school starts back in the fall - that's when the sheer gridlock takes place. I look forward to your reply and setting up this visit! Respectfully, Ellen
