It has been rather difficult to get High Schools in Lexington County to "hold their own graduation ceremonies" AT THEIR OWN HIGH SCHOOL. There is NOT a LAW that requires every high school MUST HOLD THEIR GRADUATIONS AT COLONIAL LIFE ARENA. This is complete non-sense and a waste of time, gasoline, etc. STUDENTS AND PARENTS WANT THEIR CHILDREN TO GRADUATE AT THEIR OWN SCHOOL! I am from PA but have been in S.C. for 25 + years now. Up north, every senior graduates at THEIR HIGH SCHOOL. We did it in either the auditorium or on the bleachers outside with chairs for family/friends attending.
It is easier AND MORE COST EFFECTIVE on the SCHOOL/DISTRICT AND GRADUATE/GRATDUATE'S FAMILY. PLEASE help me convince LEXINGTON SCHOOL DISTRICT ONE to HOLD SENIOR GRADUATION CEROMONIES AT THEIR SCHOOLS instead of an unfamiliar far-off site where everyone WAITS FOR HOURS, PAYS FOR PARKING, AND WAITS AGAIN TO GET OUT TO GET ON THE ROAD TO GO HOME. NO ONE WANTS TO DO THIS. Please help Lexington School District One see the huge OPPORTUNITY TO SAVE MONEY (just HOW MUCH $$ IS RENTING OUT LIFE ARENA?)and GAIN MEMORIES FOR THE FAMILIES AND SENIORS to graduate at their own school and NOT WAITING HOURS WITH STRANGERS. ONLY COST TO WHITE KNOLL HIGH, and others = moving chairs if necessary and a podium. THAT'S IT! SIMPLE AND CHEAP. And can be held the DATE THEY WISH TO HAVE IT ON! I am speaking for WHITE KNOLL HIGH in particular for my children go there. BUT LEX.1 NEEDS to KNOW THERE IS A CHOICE AND WAKE UP!!! WASTING TIME AND MONEY IS NOT MY IDEA OF A GOOD TIME; WAITING AND WAITING TO WATCH ONE CHILD GRADUATE. It IS absurd and ridiculous "this is how it's done here." NO. I do not accept that. Please help me and the other parents contact LEX.SCH.DIST.1 and GET THE WORD OUT. NO MORE COLONIAL LIFE ARENA! WE CAN SAVE A TON OF $$$ AND EASE EVERYONE'S STRESS. Please help for we all want the CHANGE NOW. NOT 2 YEARS FROM TODAY. Thank you.
