My name is Mike Stone, father of Ellie Stone. We have had the pleasure of meeting Governor Haley on several occasions in the past couple of years. We missed math class to come to a campaign rally at Bakers Sweets in Sumter, we watched a USC football game in '14, and got another autograph this past basketball season after the USC Lady Gamecocks won their second round NCAA tournament game. The governors book sits proudly on my daughters trophy shelf in her room. At 11 yrs old Ellie states that she is a "straight ticket" REPUBLICAN! Now, as you all know, we are approaching election season. My daughter is also about to enter into a sure to be hotly contested presidential race. She is following in governor Haleys footsteps and has thrown herself into to the pressure cooker that is middle school politics. She has told me that she just needs that extra something to kickstart her campaign. I have decided to try and help her. I am asking for Governor Haley to "endorse" Ellie Stone for the office of 6th grade PRESIDENT at Wilson Hall for the 2016-2017 school year. Some of her responsibilities for the upcoming school year are as follows: 1) Give speeches and opening remarks at assemblies 2) Head up the 6th grade float committee AND find a location for float building 3) Be the spokeswoman for other very important 6th grade things! I know that this is all in fun, but Ellie hopes that the Governor can find the time to back her in this very important venture! Unlike national elections, Wilson Hall has given all prospective candidates until the end of the week to prepare speeches and campaign slogans. We know this is very short notice, but that is politics. If the governor can find it in her heart to help this future politician we would greatly appreciate it.. Thank you all for finding the time to read our message and hopefully Ellie can get an endorsement. -Mike Stone aka Ellie's daddy
