Polling places for District 18

Voters in Greenville County's District 18 will choose a Republican nominee today for the County Council.

Incumbent Steve Selby and Tony Trout will go before voters for a third time in three months.

The two were among three candidates in the June 8 primary and then faced each other in a runoff two weeks later.

Trout won the runoff by 18 votes, but Selby successfully challenged the results on the basis that people had illegally voted in the runoff, including some who voted in the Democratic primary and then the GOP runoff.

The winner today will face Democratic Party candidate Jeff White in the general election in November.

Polls will open at 7 a.m. today and close at 7 p.m.

Residents who didn't vote in the June Democratic primary may vote.

These are the precincts and polling places: Canebrake, Buena Vista Elementary, 310 S. Batesville Road; Fairview, St. Mark United Methodist, 901 St. Mark Road; Frohawk, Grace Methodist Church, 627 Taylors Road; Maple Creek, Southside Baptist Church, 410 S. Main St.; Oneal, Lake Cunningham Fire Department, 2802 McElhaney Road.

Also, Pleasant Grove, Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 1002 S. Buncombe Road; Riverside, Riverside High School, 1300 S. Suber Road; and Suber Mill, Praise Cathedral, 3390 Brushy Creek Road.

Also, Taylors, Taylors First Baptist Church, 200 W. Main St. Military center (Old P.O.); Trade, Greer Fire Station, 103 W. Poinsett St.; Tryon, Needmore Recreation Center, 202 Canteen Ave.; Tyger River, Chandler Creek Elementary, 301 Chandler Road.
