But being typically republican RICE NEGLECTED TO TELL THE WHOLE TRUTH. I looked up the federal revenue for 2013 and found that Social Security brought in 34% of the total federal revenue which was $2.8 Trillion. Multiply that with by 34% (.34). The result: Social Security had a revenue of $945.2 Billion. Subtract the Social Security expense of $873.7 Billion from the REVENUE of $945.2 Billion and one gets A SURPLUS IN SOCIAL SECURITY REVENUE OF $72.5 BILLION. I am furious. Rice sent his newsletter email with no opportunity to rebut his lie (of course). I have written him and asked that he write a correction in the SC newspapers.
