I live in Greenville County in the Greer area, They just took down the old Allen Bennett Hospital which yes it's old but it had been remodeled and was made nice. Greenville Hospital system build the new hospital not more than 5 miles away, some talk was that the Greenville Hospital system was going to sale or give the old building to the veterans as a hospital. But the hospital system pulled that. Yes it would have had to have some work and equipment added back but it could have been cheaper than building new building, it stood empty so long that people went in and stole cooper and other things out of the building. Its sad that the hospital system didn't take a tax write off and give it to veterans, These men and women are treated like they did nothing to help our county, I believe they deserve the best medical care that we can give them...I had family members in service and I listen to what they had to say about what they went through day by day, year by year. Its sad that no one care. The people that care is no where close to the people who don't care. Young people today needs to spend time with a veteran, this might help the crime in our state. I'm not saying all of our young people are bad, but they need to realize what our veterans have been through for our future and theirs. I think since we have a lot of empty buildings in our state maybe someone can figure out how to use them to help our veterans whether it be hospitals or medical office for doctors or apartment for the one's who are homeless or need help. Yes it take money, but with all the tax money and federal grants and private donations, if it was worked right this state would have enough money to make something happen. If this state made a difference another state would get on board. Then South Carolina could be proud that it made a difference. Please take a minute to think about finding a way we can help more, your husband is in service, I would love be able to do more. Thank You for listening, I think you are doing a great job, being wife and mother, and Governor, I will pray for God to give you strength and wisdom, you have the love for this state. Thank You for all you do.
