Do you know if either the House or Senate does anything like that?  Thanks!

Colonel Shwedo, we do not issue proclamations for individuals, but I will be happy to draft a condolence letter for the Governor to sign.  Do you by chance know Mrs. Frederick’s address?

Thank you.

Katherine – is it possible to prepare a Governor’s Proclamation in honor of a lifetime of public service?  LTC Toney Frederick past way too early of cancer and leaves behind a family who would appreciate some type of acknowledgement of his service.  A copy of the information I been able to find is provided below:

On Thursday, December 15, 2016, Colonel Anthony Wayne Frederick was selected for and answered the call of our heavenly Commander-in-Chief.  Anthony was born on October 3, 1961 in Bad-Cannstatt, Germany.  He was the son of Mr. & Mrs. James O. Frederick.

Anthony was affectionately known to many as “Toney”.  Toney  lost both parents at an early age and was reared by his older siblings.  As a young boy growing up in the country, Tony’s passion was playing basketball and was an exceptional high school player.  Tony completed his secondary education in Elliott, SC and graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1980.  Anthony continued his education at South Carolina State University where he received his Bachelor of Science, Health and Physical Education Degree.  His love for learning lead to two Masters Degrees.  One for Computer & Information System Management and the second for Security Management from Webster University.

Toney was commissioned in the Army in May of 1984 and served proudly for over 28 years!   Colonel Frederick served his nation in the United States,  Qatar, Korea and numerous other locations around the world.  His many duty assignments included was the Chief Logistics Officer at Fort Jackson, where he was responsible for all logistics to support approximately 70,000 Soldiers every year.  Other significant responsibilities while assigned to Fort Jackson included being the Director of Logistics Operations, as well at the Director of Victory University.   Prior to his assignment at Fort Jackson, Toney commanded the  Logistics Support Element in Republic of Korea.   Toney had the honor of commanding two battalions, something very rare in the Army – he served as the Professor of Military Science at South Carolina State University and also commanded  a logistics battalion in Qatar, South West Asia where he earned the Bronze Star Medal.

Some of his achievements include the Legion of Merit (the Army’s second highest peacetime award for distinguished service); Bronze Star Medal; Joint Service Commendation Medal; Meritorious Service Medal (6th Award); Army Commendation Medal (3rd Award); Joint Service Achievement Medal; Army Achievement Medal; National Defense Service Medal (2nd Award); Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal,  Global  War On Terrorism Service Medal; Korean Defense Service Medal; Army Service Ribbon; Overseas Service Ribbon (4th Award); and Parachutist Badge.  Anthony served in a designated Imminent Danger  Pay Area and eventually retired from the military after his illness.

Colonel Frederick leaves a loving and devoted wife, Drucilla Titus Frederick, one son, Anthony Frederick and two daughters, Ashley Ann and Harmonie Jade.

I will be happy to hunt down anything else you may need.  Thanks!

Kevin
