I do not agree with any use of the Confederate battleflag as a racist statement. People associate it with the Ku Klux Klan. if you look at the old black and white pictures of Klan meetings and marches the flag they carried was the flag of the United States of America. The media does not mention that and uninformed people who don't know the history of our country follow the lead of the media and politicians pandering to their constituents. If people would read the statements of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and the Sons of Union Veterans opposing the use of the flag in a racial context maybe their viewpoint would be different. I forward this article for your review _Click here: Confederate culture war going Soviet: Column_ (http://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2015/07/08/yezhov-bamiyan-and-the-expanding-american- memory-hole-column/29793547/) The frenzy is now denying flags to be placed on graves of Confederate soldiers in cemeteries maintained by the National Park Service. The flag was removed from Fort Sumter of all places. The mayor of New Orleans wants four monuments removed. Dig up General Forest and his wife. So where does it stop? It stops when people decide that the recognition of events and people that made the history of our country is important to the preservation of our heritage and using that to build a future for our country. . --part1_fb4db.4d3aec4c.42cf4c69_boundary Content-Type: text/html; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable
