(Columbia-AP) Aug. 30, 2003 - Governor Mark Sanford
says a Beaufort lawyer who helped in his gubernatorial
campaign last year will be his new senior policy
adviser.
Tom Davis replaces former state Representative Chip
Campsen of the Isle of Palms in the $80,000-a-year job.
Campsen left last month and has been considering a
run for state Senate.
Davis was Sanford's policy adviser during the
campaign.
Also, Sanford's representative in Washington will
continue to work on federal issues, but will now work in
Columbia. Scott English serves as policy adviser and
makes $75,000 a year. He previously served as
legislative director for Sanford during the governor's
three terms in the US House.
Sanford also tapped Dennis Drew as his new education
policy adviser. Drew will be paid $1 a year. He replaces
former state Representative Rita Allison of Lyman.
