Former probation
officer charged with placing bets

COLUMBIA, S.C. - State agents have arrested a
former state Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services
employee and charged him with misconduct in office on Monday.
Charles D. Prosser, 42, of Lake City is accused of placing bets
with a probation client at his office in Clarendon County, according
to arrest warrants issued by the State Law Enforcement Division.
Prosser resigned from the department April 2, agency spokesman
Pete O'Boyle said.
The arrest is the result of an investigation by SLED. |
