Good afternoon! Last year you were so kind as to handle my request for Governor Haley to proclaim a Museum Day in South Carolina. I am the current 2^nd Vice President for the South Carolina Federation of Museums. Each year we request that the Governor declare Museum Day in South Carolina based on the International Museum Day’s theme. This year the theme is “Museums for a Sustainable Society” and “highlights the role of museums in raising public awareness about the need for a society that is less wasteful, more cooperative and that uses resources in a way that respects living systems.” The chosen day for celebration is Monday, May 18^th. Not only would I Iike to request Governor Haley’s proclamation of this day, I would also like to personally invite her to attend any museum event of her choice that weekend if her schedule permits.

We are hoping that museums across the state will make this proclamation their Facebook cover photo to promote South Carolina and its amazing museum community and culture.
