Hailey, I have a friend, Barbara MorningStar Paul, who has been greatly affected by the recent flooding. She has been repeatedly turned down by her Insurance Company and FEMA even though her home has been flooded, black mold formed in her house and barns where she houses rescued horses. Her roof is leaking and no help is forthcoming because she refuses to leave her animals unattended. If FEMA can offer her over $6,000 to live in a motel why can't they give her $6,000 to make repairs to her home to make it more livable? How her insurance company can deny a claim is is just as ridiculous Something needs to be done to help her. She and her husband are both sick due in part because of their now living conditions and the stress the repeated refusals of help from the aforementioned company and agency. They live at 136 Earl Lucas Road, Pelion, SC 29123. They need help and they needed it the day after the floods. I am sure there are many others like Barbara and her husband who need help also that are being denied. Sincerly Joan Garris 2530 Tucker Road Heath Springs, SC 29058 C: 803-328-2427
