I was laid off from my job in may of this year after 13 years of loyal service. I am on unemployment benefits with will run out in about three weeks. My friends have been on unemployment for about a year and a half. Now that I need it I am told I get 20 was and that's it. I was laid off from a job where I made 21.00 per hr and now I am being told to except jobs that only pay between 10 to 12 dollars an hr. How am I supposed to live. If I had longer to draw I would have a better chance to get a job that pays better. It looks as if you are being forced to take a job that doesn't pay good. So sc unemployment numbers will be lower. From a citizen that's just barely making it using up all my savings and had to turn in my 40 I'm Just to make up The difference. The unemployment office said congress didn't thank we needed that much money for the unemployment  office of sc. I am not abusing it I just need it a little longer.I need a good job to support.my family. Why can't the government help. Please let me know what can be done. Signed worried .
