Honea Path native Tom Ervin has announced his
candidacy for the state House of Representatives seat recently vacated by
David Wilkins of Greenville.
A former Circuit Court judge, Mr. Ervin served two terms in the early
1980s as a state House member from District 7 in southern Anderson County.
"Experience matters," Mr. Ervin said in a news release announcing his
candidacy for the District 24 seat in Greenville County. "I have four
years of legislative experience ? something that none of the other
candidates can offer."Mr. Wilkins, who was Speaker of the House, resigned
his House seat to become United States ambassador to Canada.
