Governor Makes October Breast
Cancer Awareness Month |
(Columbia) - Gov. Mark Sanford signed a
proclomation Monday making October Breast Cancer Awareness Month in
South Carolina.
Dozens of women flooded to the
Caldwell-Boylston House for a Pink Ribbon Tea to bring awareness to
the disease.
During the event, breast cancer survivors talked
about the importance of early detection.
News 19 is committed
to breast cancer awareness through our "Buddy Call"
program.
Tuesday News 19 is hosting a special phone bank.
We'll have experts from Palmetto Health to answer question about the
disease and what you can do to protect yourself.
The phone
bank will open just before our 6:00 p.m. Tuesday newscast and runs
through our 7:30 newscast. |
