SC Ag Council Launches Year with Ag Outlook Conference at 9th Annual AG EXPO
COLUMBIA--- As part of the 2003 AG EXPO at Embassy Suites at Kingston Plantation in Myrtle Beach, SC, the SC Agricultural Council (SCAC) will sponsor the Annual Ag Outlook Conference from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2003.
The annual Ag Outlook Conference which serves as the "State of the State" for South Carolina agriculture also serves as the South Carolina Agricultural Councils first meeting of the year. The Ag Outlook Conference showcases state, regional, and national agricultural leaders and economists who bring the latest news on our state's most precious industry.
The South Carolina Agricultural Council (SCAC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion and maintenance of a favorable view of agriculture in South Carolina. SCAC conducts regularly scheduled forums designed to inform the agricultural professional and the general public on cutting edge trends and issues effecting agriculture in our state. The SCAC also strives to create understanding and support from the rural and non-rural areas of the state. To further the goals of the organization, SCAC annually sponsors the observance of Farm/City Week in South Carolina---a national event which promotes a better understanding between agricultural and urban communities.
Membership in the SCAC is $10 per year. Registration for each SCAC quarterly meeting which includes the program and lunch is $7 per person. However, to save a few dollars and eliminate the need to send a payment for each of the meetings, SCAC members may also prepay the registration fee for the rest of the year (April, August, and November of 2003) for a flat fee of $20. Even though members may opt for this convenient fee payment, the annual prepaid registration is not mandatory. Members and guests may opt to register for each meeting individually if they choose.
For more information about the SCAC membership dues or registration fees, call Steve Pavlasek, Secretary/Treasurer, 803-765-5333, or email Steve_Pavlasek@nass.usda.gov.
