Milliken executive nominated to S.C. Ports
Authority Board
Associated

CHARLESTON -- Gov. Mark Sanford has appointed an Upstate
textile executive to the State Ports Authority Board.
The appointment of J.
Richard Dillard, director of public affairs for Spartanburg-based Milliken and
Co., still requires Senate confirmation.
Until then, Dillard will serve on an
interim basis beginning at the SPA's next monthly meeting scheduled for
Tuesday.
Dillard, 51, would replace James Micali, president of Michelin North
America in Greenville. An Edgefield native and Clemson University graduate,
Dillard said he brings a pro-manufacturing tilt to the board, given his 27 years
with Milliken.
Dillard's nomination follows the May appointments of Carroll
A. Campbell III, son of former Gov. Carroll Campbell, of Columbia and Harry J.
Butler Jr. of Georgetown.
