Perhaps the message subject should have been "Ethics" as I believe this is an ethical issue as well.  While I don't always agree with your positions, your comments regarding the flag made me so very proud of you and of those who stood with you.  At that moment you rose above the term "politician."  You became a "Statesman/Stateswoman."  I believe this will be one of your legacies. I will write my local Senator and Representative and ask for their support.  Thank you!  (I am 76 years old, white, grew up in the segregated South, graduated from the Virginia Military Institute, served in Vietnam, and have lived in Mt. Pleasant for the past 28 years)
