Haley, I respectfully ask you to reassess your position of receiving these Syrian "refugees" that you believe you desperately want for South Carolina without a thought about protecting your citizens of your state you so well love. I hope that you are now well aware of what happened in Paris, Fr., last Friday with the horrific killings and that reports of who the killers were are now coming in. But what really has opened some "eyes" of some state governors, especially the Gov. of Michigan, Rich Snyder, who completely reversed his stance of receiving the Syrian refugees and who now stated that "suspending efforts to bring Syrian refugees to Michigan in light of the deadly terrorist attacks in Paris on Friday." I copied that off of a website with a link to the Detroit Free Press showing Gov Snyder's statement on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015. In addition to Michigan, now that they are "suspending efforts", 3 other states, Arkansas, Texas and Alabama, have also either suspended their "efforts" or completely disallowed all Syrian refugees from coming into their states, as they exercise their 10th Amendment Rights to our U.S. Constitution. So, I'm asking you, Gov. Haley, to exercise your Tenth Amendment Right to spur on other states as well, to come together with the other four states I mentioned, MI, AR, TX and AL, and form an "alliance" with those states, showing the rest of America that South Carolina is a state dedicated to protecting its citizens FIRST, not second or last, FIRST! And that South Carolina is a state that cares only for the welfare of its citizens at firsthand, not to some refugees that think they deserve a "helping handout"! Because that is what you will be doing...a handout to the refugees that you think should be allowed taxpayer handouts (I've seen your state refugee "program" where you would be doling out monetary "assistance" to the refugees to "hold them over for eight months"!) Is that your idea of "helping" or "healing" them? Maybe if we heed the words of a not too long ago passing of a great woman, Mother Teresa, quote "The way you help heal the world is you start with your own family." ? Mother Teresa; which resonates with a lot of Americans and citizens here in South Carolina, that helping "your own family" first comes with healing or helping others second. Please take a second look at what your are doing to us citizens of South Carolina in accepting these Syrian "refugees. Gov. Snyder of Michigan already recognized what the FBI has been saying that they cannot property "vet" these refugees (immigrants) for the safety of all Americans involved. And don't be replying with your "policy advisor", Mr. David Glaccum, who replied to me and to several people the very same words in his reply email, that I've contacted in the Spartanburg area who are combating this disturbing problem of these Syrians. We are tired of "form letters". South Carolina should have been on the "One of the First States" list that was deterring or delaying these refugees coming into their state. Alas, I was saddened to hear that you were among the other "progressive" states that were taken in by our America's administration only for the want of federal funded programs that will only be another tax burden on the citizens of South Carolina. I urge you to slow down your desires to bring in these Syrian people until such time that they are REALLY, ACTUALLY and property vetted by professional people who can insure the very safety of the citizens of South Carolina. Thank you.
