REPORT TITLE: Batch Total Sheet.
FILE(S) ACCESSED: Combined Agency File, Check File, and Agency Output Tape.
USER AGENCIES: Agencies receiving STARS output on magnetic tape.
FREQUENCY: Daily.
REPORT TYPE/PURPOSE: This report is transmitted to agencies receiving tape output from STARS, in order to provide them with control totals. STARS output tapes combine input submitted by the agency on magnetic tape with input submitted on paper documents.
COLUMN HEADINGS AND DESCRIPTION OF DATA IN EACH COLUMN:
BATCH AGY: Agency code of the batching agency.

and also an alphabetical list by Agency Codes with Titles.BATCH DATE: Agency's batch date in YY/MM/DD format.
BATCH TYPE: Batch type code. These codes are explained at the end of each daily report and listed on the STARS Form 100, the Transmittal Control Sheet.
BATCH NO: Agency-assigned batch number.
HASH TOTAL: This is a hash total of all transaction amounts disreguarding positive and negative signs.
NET TOTAL: This is the net total of all transaction amounts in the batch.
DOCUMENTS: The number of documents in the batch.
RECORDS: The number of records created from the documents in the batch.
PROCESS DATE: The date the batch was processed by the Comptroller General's Office and posted to STARS in YY/MM/DD format.
CHECK DATE: The date the check was issued by the State Treasurer's Office in MM/DD/YY format.
(Applicable only for the batch types "6" and "9" which create a check. The other batch types "0", "3", and "4" have a blank space here.)
LAST CHECK NUMBER: This is the check number assigned by the State Treasurer's Office to the last transaction in the batch.

SORT ORDER: Batch type, batch agency, and batch number.
OTHER FORMAT FEATURES: The agency code and name of the agency receiving the output tape is printed at the upper left of the page. Totals are presented by agency. The output Julian day is printed as part of the page heading.
RELATED STARS REPORTS: An Agency Output Tape Summary report is generated at the time the Batch Total Sheets are generated. The summary report is used only by the Comptroller General's Office and is not sent to agencies. The Agency Output Tape Summary lists all agencies receiving tape output for that day plus the hash and net totals for each tape.
