The great amount of damage caused by Charlie is inspiring people to lend a helping hand, including the state of South Carolina.
Several Spartanburg County Schools are starting supply drives for the victims of Hurricane Charley. The local Salvation Army is also on stand-by to assist at Florida's Emergency Operations Center. Their job is to find the resources needed to get through this disaster.
However, they are asking the Upstate to help with donations. They need non perishable food and water. The schools are asking for the same things, along with school supplies.
If you are interested in helping out the victims of Hurricane Charley, we're teaming up with the American Red Cross and BBT bank for a Special Disaster Relief Project. You can drop off your donation at any BBT branch location or at Spartanburg Chapter of the Red Cross located at 104 Garner Road near Pine Street. You can also call 583-8000.
