SENATE SEAT BELT VOTE



The Senate last week passed the stronger seat-belt bill. “Yes” was a vote to give final approval to the bill, which lets police stop drivers who are not wearing seat belts. “No” was a vote to stop the bill’s passage.

• Voting “yes” — 18 Democrats, 15 Republicans

• Voting “no” — 1 Democrat, 11 Republicans.

• Not voting — Sen. Robert Ford, D-Charleston
