(Miami-AP) -- A trial for former University
of South Carolina president James Holderman continues today in
Miami.
On Tuesday, a jury watched and listened to video and
audio tapes of the former president discussing payment for an
illegal visa and passport with an undercover officer.
Attorney Neil Nameroff says Detective Sergeant Peter
Smolyanski was creating a crime instead of detecting
one.
Holderman is being tried on charges of visa fraud
conspiracy, money-laundering conspiracy and visa fraud. Smolyanski
will be on the witness stand again today. |
