I applaud Gov. Haley's appointment of Butch Henerey as Berkeley County's interim sheriff.  I am a retired police officer with 15 years' service in Charleston and Berkeley County law enforcement agencies, and have known Butch Henerey for most of that time.  He obviously is competent, and as the former long-time chief deputy, knows the Berkeley County Sheriff's Dept. inside and out.  He is also a man of outstanding integrity.  The Berkeley County Sheriff's Dept. will be in excellent hands until a new sheriff is elected.
