We would like a proclamation stating that GUMBO, with it's rich tradition dating to the 1600's, be named a HISTORICAL DISH OF SOUTH CAROLINA. We are hoping to have this proclamation by 9/1 so we may use it in promoting National Gumbo Day which is 10/12 this year. I am confident other dishes could benefit from the distinction of a HISTORICAL DISH. Tourists could look for this distinction in restaurants and other foods produced in South Carolina. I would be happy to provide a one page synopsis of my concept program upon your request.
