Dear Governor Haley,
I am writing to urge you to move
forward on developing a state plan to
comply with the Environmental
Protection Agency's (EPA) Clean Power
Plan.
I believe our state
is uniquely well positioned to develop sustainable
energy sources
moving forward and hope to see us leading the way to a
cleaner,
healthier future. There is no reason for us to delay
development of our
own plans while the courts take a time out to
regroup.
While the
courts do their due diligence by reviewing the Clean Power
Plan, I
strongly encourage you to ensure our state powers ahead on
developing
plans to act on climate change by limiting heat-trapping
emissions and
transitioning to renewable energy.
