The greatness of S.C. State and its contribution to the Nation and the State of South Carolina cannot be denied nor should it be shut down. This institution has survived in spite of its governing body which is appointed by the State of SC and its own internal issues. Regardless of where you completed your degree, if you are a native of SC this institution has had a great impact on your life through the educators, leaders, military officers, politicians, mentors, and the list goes on that it produced.  

I cannot express how disappointed I am in the vote to close my Alma Mater.  I appreciate your support in opposing the vote to shut down SC State University.  I am a member of the Class of 2000 and loyal supporter of the school.  I appreciate your continued support in keeping the school open and finding a solution that best fits the institution and State of SC.
