A quick look at what’s going on at the Capitol:

• In the House — Convenes at 10 a.m.; conference committee meets to work out changes in the regulation of veterinary medicine in South Carolina

• In the Senate — Convenes at 1 p.m. to act on the $5.5 billion state budget compromise for 2004-05, worked out by a House-Senate committee

• Elsewhere — 11 a.m., Gov. Mark Sanford presents Governor’s Annual Citizenship Awards to public school students from across the state; north steps, State House
