Dear Governor Haley,
I am writing to urge you to move
forward on developing a state plan to
comply with the Environmental
Protection Agency's (EPA) Clean Power
Plan. Your children and
grandchildren, among others, will thank you
for doing all you could to
make the air they breathe a little cleaner
and safer.
Since the
Supreme Court has declared that corporations are people, it
appears
that the high court thinks that it's safe for corporation
"people" to
breathe dirty air, forgetting that real people
must breathe that same
air.
Thank you for acting positively on this most important
issue.
While the courts do their due diligence by reviewing the
Clean Power
Plan, I strongly encourage you to ensure our state powers
ahead on
developing plans to act on climate change by limiting
heat-trapping
emissions and transitioning to renewable
energy.
