Columbia, S.C. - Governor Jim Hodges today gave the following statement regarding the Court's decision on reapportionment in the state.

"This is a big win for South Carolina voters. The three-judge panel agreed that we should not divide communities for racial or political purposes. The Court issued a plan that is a fair and balanced representation of South Carolina. Had the Legislature presented a similar plan, I would have gladly signed it and saved taxpayers and the Court time and money."
