You and Senator Davis are taking the correct position on this issue. It only makes common sense that there should be only one point of accountability in regard to road projects. The LAC identified the issue in 2006 by exposing SCDOT's gross waste, (2) June 2007 Act 114, was enacted, (3) July 2007, first SC Secretary of Transportation appointed, (3) August 2007, first SC Secretary of Transportation, confirmed, (4) September 2007 the SC Transportation Commission approved a statewide priority listing only to immediately vote 4-3 to add a project that did not meet the new criteria just approved. CONCLUSION: Ten years later in 2016 the SCDOT Commission is still wasting millions of taxpayer dollars on "wanted" rather than "needed" road projects. Allow the accountability and decision making for road projects, based upon credible data, reside in only ONE OFFICE to the benefit of all South Carolinians
