SECRETARY OF STATE MAKES DOING BUSINESS EASIER OVER INTERNET MILES ANNOUNCES NEW SERVICE: DOWNLOADABLE BUSINESS FORMS COLUMBIA—Secretary of State Jim Miles announced today that all forms used by the Office of Secretary of State are now available to customers over the Internet through the Secretary of State’s website, www.scsos.com. This innovation is particularly good news to the thousands of corporations, law firms, and charities doing business with the Secretary of State on a daily basis. “ Recently we updated our website to include all of our forms in a downloadable format,” said Miles. “As business and technology evolve, so must our government. We need to provide services in the most efficient, accessible manner possible. In this day and time, that means we will be doing business over the Internet.” According to Miles, many of the “tens of thousands” of customers who utilize the Secretary of State’s office are conducting businesses from their desktops in their homes and offices. “ Putting our forms online was a natural progression for our office. We are constantly streamlining our operations while improving services, but I think some of those who are familiar with government agencies will be both delighted and surprised to see how easy it can be to do business with the Secretary of State’s Office,” said Miles. In addition to the downloadable forms service, Miles’ website, www.scsos.com, contains other information and services related to the regulation of trademarks, corporations, notaries, boards and commissions, and charities. “I encourage our customers to take the time to visit the website and to check it out often for updates,” said Miles. “Our website is always changing, which is what government must also do to keep up with the pace of business in South Carolina and in a global economy.” For more information, customers are encouraged to call the Office of the Secretary of State at (803)734-2170 or visit the website at www.scsos.com. |
