Haley, I watched as you spoke on the tragedy that occurred resulting in the shooting deaths of nine people in Charleston, SC; I thought that you spoke with tenderness that terrible day. I hope that your words gave some solace to the families as I am sure those wounds have yet to be healed. Also, I'd like to thank you from removing the Confederate flag from the Statehouse. As a southerner myself it was an issue that I wrestled with as well because it is difficult to hold dear both a treasured history and the faithful pursuit of a brighter future. It is my hope that historians look upon your tenure as governor as proving that concepts of either/or can be rejected and that with wisdom and courage good people can hold on to both the past and the future. It is in light of the desire to hold in tension our respect of those who came before with love for those present and yet to come that I am reaching out to ask for your endorsement for Marco Rubio for President. I do not know him personally nor am I a beneficiary of his. I am simply persuaded by his integrity and decency amidst a nomination process that is neither. I wish you the best in your discernment process. Blessings to you and your family, Taylor
