A state Department of Motor Vehicles employee was arrested Thursday on charges of violating the state's ethics act and altering a driver's license, according to the State Law Enforcement Division.

Emeryl Baldwin Wright, 35, of 141 Valley Brook Road, Piedmont, is charged with accepting false information on a license application in exchange for money and providing fraudulent licenses to people who were not entitled, according to a warrant.

Wright faces prosecution by the 13th Circuit Solicitor's Office, according to Kathryn Richardson, a SLED spokeswoman.
