Here are a couple of ideas that have my husband and I have noticed while living in other areas of the country. 1. Light use trailers -- commercial (landscaping, painters, all purpose), residential use, home-made, etc. must be taken to an authorized inspection garage and approved for use and/or a fee be paid to register and tag each year like cars. In our Greer area, there are plenty that have no lights, no stickers, no tags, and some pose a safety threat at night. They are using roads and not paying their fair share. 2. Every vehicle needs to be inspected and approved yearly before gaining new plates. 3. Each valid driver license holder have a renew fee each year. This can be paid when personal property tax payment is made to the County. Small fee $5-$10 a year. Thank you for your consideration.
