COLUMBIA, S.C. - A Columbia lawyer has been
appointed to the state Election Commission.
Gov. Mark Sanford named Karl Bowers Jr. to the five-member panel
Monday for a term that ends September 2004.
The commission is responsible for overseeing election laws in
South Carolina.
Bowers is a lawyer with Nelson, Mullins, Riley and Scarborough
and a legal officer in the South Carolina Air National
Guard.
