Dear Governor Nikki Haley,

I am writing this letter asking if there is anyway you could recognize the Midland Valley High School Mustangs "Sauce Team".  The Midland Valley community is made up of small dried up textile mill towns.  As I am sure you know this school does not get an over abundance of funds and certainly not a lot of recognition.  The coach, Mark Snelgrove, drives daily from Lexington, SC to coach this team.  These young men won the AAA State Championship this past Saturday night in Columbia, SC by beating AC Flora High. This team possessed a hard work ethic, talent, determination, heart for a game, respect of their coach and teammates and they played every game their way as a team.  These young men won against all odds.  They beat Darlington HS, the defending Lower State Champions to Win the Lower State title and then they beat AC Flora, the defending State Champions, to win the State title.  All of their hard work and dedication was with a goal in mind.  I find this admirable especially among a lot of today's youth.  Also, these young men are respectful and well mannered.  They give a renewed hope for today's youth.  I think it would be so special and appreciative for you to recognize these young men, their coaches and the cheerleaders (the voices behind the Sauce Team) especially since they are not from an affluent area with lots of available funding.  I know you love children and I feel you will be interested in promoting something good that has happened to this school. I appreciate anyway you might be able to get these guys some recognition.  Each one of these young men have the ability to be successful and to be positive role models for their area.  I have included their record so you can see the hard work they have done.  

2012-2013 season 17 wins 10 loses
2013-2014 season 23 wins 5 loses
2014-2015 season 25 wins 7 loses
2015 Lower State Champions
2015 AAA State Champions

Prior to 2012 I think it was a season of losses. 

Thank you for taking the time to read my email.  Thank you for being the awesome Governor that we know you are.  Thank you for any recognition you can provide this team from the office of our Governor.  I think it would be so special for these kids to know your care and applaud their hard work.

Prior to moving to beautiful Myrtle Beach 3 years ago, I was a lifetime member of the Midland Valley area.  I still support Midland Valley High and I feel very passionate about this school and their students.
