It makes no sense to risk the many benefits our coast provides for the small amount of oil that might be recoverable. While I do believe jobs and economics are important to our state, they are not the only factors to be considered in every decision made in this state. Unfortunately it appears that has become the case, completely ignoring the lessons learned from such viewpoint in this and other states. Having said that, it appears in this instance the argument for jobs and economics actually promotes opposition to drilling. Our state's tourism industry is huge and provides jobs to so many, that even if one does not even consider the environmental concerns, the smart choice is to oppose the drilling. It appears to me to be a no-brainer.
