SCFAA Issues ATF Hotline Number

COLUMBIA---Although the immediate focus and interest on security at agricultural facilities may not seem as prominent as last September, the South Carolina Fertilizer and Agrichemical Association (SCFAA) reminds its members to continue to focus on sight security and safety. SCFAA members are asked to post the following number, hosted by the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, that can be utilized to report ANY suspicious activity, theft, etc. related to products: 1-800-800-3855.  Any suspicious activity (trying to purchase products with cash, refusal to give contact information, etc.) should be reported to this number immediately.

Members are urged to continue to review security practices at their facilities as well as review safeguards with employees. The SCFAA also urges the public to report any suspicious activities to the local authorities.

The SCFAA promotes, fosters, and encourages, through education, the proper, correct and safe use of pesticides, plant foods and other related agricultural products. For more information about the organization, contact Mitch Binnarr, SCFAA President, 843-667-4867, mebinnarr@dowagro.com, or Jack Cullipher, SCFAA Executive Director, 803-732-9067, jackcullipher@sc.rr.com.
