Sanford names former U.S. attorney to USC trustees board

Associated Press

Gov. Mark Sanford Wednesday named former U.S. Attorney Mark W. Buyck to the University of South Carolina Board of Trustees.

Buyck, 69, has served on the board once before from 1987 through 1999. He served as chairman of the Academic Affairs Committee and later as chairman of the Buildings and Grounds Committee.

Buyck, who practices law in Florence, now serves as vice chairman of the USC Development Foundation. He graduated from the university's law school.

Sanford also said Wednesday that Darla Moore, 48, would continue to serve on the board. Moore is executive vice president of Rainwater, Inc., a private investment firm.
