April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. This month provides an excellent opportunity for our State to demonstrate its support in ending child abuse and to support the numerous victims and survivors who are among us. Moreover, it is a wonderful opportunity
to educate the public on the seriousness of child abuse and neglect and the prevalence of this epidemic in our lives.
The Exchange Club adopted the prevention of child abuse as its National Project in 1979 and has since worked toward preventing child abuse. The Exchange Club would be honored if you would sponsor an official proclamation to recognize April as National Child
Abuse Prevention Month. Your proclamation would lend official recognition to the important work of educating the public on child abuse and neglect, as well as emphasize your personal commitment to ending these crimes.
The Beaufort Exchange Club is sponsoring KidFest on April 2, 2016 in the Beaufort Belk’s Parking Lot. We hope you will attend this special event to present the proclamation. Thank you for your kind consideration.

WHEREAS, thousands of children are reported as abused or neglected every year; and
WHEREAS, Child abuse prevention is a community responsibility and finding solutions depends on involvement among all people; and

community and organizations like the Exchange Club; and
