My name is Zachary Hoskins, and I am an editorial assistant at CQ Press, an imprint of SAGE Publications and a leader in producing books for college political science courses. One of our most successful books is Keeping the Republic: Power and Citizenship in American Politics, by Christine Barbour and Gerald Wright of Indiana University: an introductory text that has been used by tens of thousands of students in universities and colleges across the country. For the next (eighth) edition, to be published in January 2017, we would like to include a brief interview with Governor Haley in our Profiles in Citizenship feature.
 
Profiles in Citizenship is a feature meant to provide inspiring models of citizen participation and show the diversity of this participation across gender, race, ethnicity, and political ideology. These profiles are a powerful way to show students, many of whom are just starting to become politically active, what it means to engage in politics and serve the public. In the current edition of the book (which I'd be happy to send to you), we include profiles of such figures as Susana Martinez, Condoleeza Rice, Newt Gingrich, and Sandra Day O'Connor.
