<WFUD_Request>Dear Governor Haley,
Why is the DOT going to spend Millions of Dollars to relieve traffic in Greenville? Are they the chosen city to get ROAD WORK DONE?
I have lived in this State for 73 years and the Roads are in the Worst Shape that I have ever seen.
What about the rest of us that travel the STATES ROADS every day, do we not count over one CITY?
We had visitors last week looking to retire here. Their first question was, "Do you not have a Road Maintenance Department", my answer was, I am not sure anymore.
I-85 is so bad that my wife is considering paying extra to fly out of Columbia to NY City to see her family because the last two times we went to Charlotte by I-26 and I-85, I had to have my cars front end checked after hitting some really bad POT HOLES.
I called the DOT to report them and they said that I would have to know the County and Mile Marker that they were in.
The DOT is a mess and needs to be REDONE!!!
I met a Engineer that left this State a few years back and asked him why after 8 years with the DOT was he leaving. His answer "The State DOT is a mess, if you question a job, they tell you to mind your own business"!! 
I have a question, why does it take 4 dump trucks, one back hoe and operator, to dig a ditch out, while 6 men stand around talking?
This has happened several times and when you complain, their answer is, WE WILL LOOK INTO IT AND GET BACK TO YOU.
THAT TIME HAS NOT AND WILL NEVER HAPPEN!!

PS: I watched while they opened the plans for the Greenville Project, your new Director of DOT, said it was a long time coming and they really needed it.
I have paid TAXES for a long time in this STATE and I and the rest of the TAX PAYERS need better roads than Greenville needs to solve a Traffic Problem that they created. A new loop or what ever is not going to help them, if you can't get there!!</WFUD_Request>
