SC Cotton Growers’ Annual Meeting

FLORENCE---The SC Cotton Growers’ (SCCG) Annual Meeting will be held on at the Pee Dee Research & Education Center in Florence on Wednesday, February 27, 2002. Sponsored by the SC Cotton Board and Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service, the meeting is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. and end at 3 p.m.

Representatives from the Southern Cotton Growers’ Association, National Cotton Council, SC Association of Independent Crop Consultants, and Cotton Incorporated will provide valuable information and reports for the state’s cotton growers. In addition, the SC Cotton Board sponsored research projects summary and survey results will be provided.

Topics on the agenda include: U.S. Yield and Fiber Quality Trends, Nationwide Status of the Boll Weevil, the 2001 Cotton Crop in SC, and Stink Bug Issues in SC.

In addition to valuable information, participants will receive commercial and private applicators pesticide re-certification credits and Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) credits will be offered.

SCCG Annual Meeting sponsors include: Carolinas Cotton Growers Cooperative, Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service, Farm Credit of South Carolina, SC Cotton Board, and SC Farm Bureau Federation. Door prizes will be provided compliments of Aventis CropScience, BASF Corporation, Delta and Pine Land Company, Monsanto, and Stoneville Pedigreed Seed Company.
