My concern is mopeds on our streets no registration, no insurance basically a 30-50 mph hazard going unchecked. I am on a fixed income but keep my auto in good working order and pay my insurance to make sure myself and others are covered. I would love not to have these bills. The majority of moped riders are people that have lost their license due to unlawful behavior, but they are rewarded with mopeds, what a great deal no bills, no license, no insurance and you can block any street as you go 30-40 mph in the center of the lane, impeding registered vehicles. I am truly at a loss to understand the thought process for allowing mopeds on the roads. The beach roads I can see that basically like golf carts, but even golf carts have restrictions. So are mopeds to follow bicycle laws or are they just a motorized vehicle that has no responsibilities towards those they share the road with?
