I moved to South Carolina in 1990 to work at the Savannah River Site. During my military career I served nearly 10 years overseas with tours of duty in Southeast Asia, (Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, and Taiwan); Guam, and Germany. My stateside assignments were in Texas, Louisiana, Florida, Michigan, and Colorado. I NEVER served one single day in South Carolina; yet every year since I've lived here, I've had to pay state income tax on my military retirement. Is there any legislation in the works to exempt retired military pay from SC State Income Tax? Has anyone thought about raising tax money by requiring all the various types of utility trailers and boat trailers have license plates ? Thank you for your time and consideration. James K.
