Bill
requires fingerprinting of foster, adoptive parents
Foster
parents and adoptive parents would be fingerprinted under legislation that
cleared a House Judiciary subcommittee Wednesday.
The fingerprints would
be used for criminal background checks.
The panel also approved a bill
that would allow fingerprinting of children 15 and older in the care of the
Department of Social Services and give the agency access to criminal records of
the children.
The bills now move to the full House Judiciary
Committee.
