I have been researching SC tax and understand that any person retired from the uniformed services or their surviving spouse, shall be allowed an exemption from the S.C. State Income Tax of $3,000 until age 65. I retired from the U.S Air Force after 20+ years and considered moving back to SC (born and raised) from FL. As you know, FL does not have any state tax at all so what would be my incentive to moving back to SC know that my limited pension would be taxed. Are you working on passing legislation on military pensions be exempt from state tax?
