Couples going through a premarital counseling will
get $50 income tax credits under a new law Gov. Mark Sanford
signed Wednesday.
To get the credit, couples would have
to show proof that they went to a professional or clergy-based
counseling program when they get a marriage
license.
Couples would have to spend a minimum of six
hours together in the course within 12 months of applying for
a marriage license.
