Date:   October 13, 2000

Thank you for agreeing to assist with the 2000 Lt. Governor’s Writing Awards Program. We are excited about sponsoring this event once again. You are a valuable part of this program and we appreciate your efforts in making it a success.

A new program was added four years ago, the Lt. Governor’s Young Writers’ Summer Workshop, and will again be offered this year. During the month of June, district winners are given the opportunity to attend a tuition free, two-day writing workshop at Columbia College. This workshop is designed to improve and enhance the writing skills of our young writers. I encourage you to share the Lt. Governor’s Young Writers’ Summer Workshop with your students and express to them the importance of this exciting opportunity!
